Apple Removes a Fake Calculator Application that Allowed Teens to Hide Photos
APP STORE: The Calculator% application allowed young people to hide compromising photos from their parents …
Apple has made the decision to remove the Calculator% app from the App Store . This tool allowed to hide photos in a secret folder on his phone. British police had also several times investigated this, says Business Insider .
The concept was simple: behind an icon reminiscent of a calculator hid an interface in which it was enough to enter a password consisting of numbers to access a secret folder. The user could then store photos.
To bypass parental control
Calculator% was mostly used by children and adolescents. The process allowed them to hide intimate or even compromising photos to their parents. A way for them to prevent them from exercising effective control.
The US and UK authorities had already advised parents to check the presence or absence of this application in the phone of their offspring. But other apps provide a similar service and are always available.
