Nokia’s HERE maps is finally available for iOS

When Nokia released HERE Maps app for Android last year, it immediately extremely popular, because of its numerous features and especially because of its price – it is free. At the same time, Nokia promised to release HERE Maps for Apple’s iOS mobile operating system as well and now we are happy to tell you that it has finally been launched for iOS too.

HERE Maps offers voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation for vehicles and also for pedestrians. You can also use the app to navigate using public transportation and take a look at public transport schedules. The best thing about HERE Maps is that it can be used without internet – offline. It uses your device’s GPS receiver to determine your location and you only need to download the maps your would like to use offline to your mobile device. There are maps of more than a 100 countries currently available and they are being updated regularly. On approximately 40 maps you can get live traffic information in real-time. It also includes information about incidents and other information related to traffic. HERE Maps also includes public transit maps and other information for more than 900 cities around the globe. You can choose to save your favorite places and they are synchronized across all your devices. If you are looking for a shop or a restaurant, you can also see and compare ratings for these places from Lonely Planet and TripAdvisor.

HERE Maps from Nokia has definitely stirred up the market of GPS navigation apps. Many of these apps cost quite a lot of money and HERE Maps offers excellent features for free.
